*The Roaring 20s was a period of prohibition and intolerance, speakeasies, flappers, gangsters, and crime. *THe Sacco and Vanzetti Case, the Stock Market Crash, and the Scopes Monkey Trial were major events that took place in the 20s. The Stock Market Crash led to a period in history known at the Great Depression. *The inventions of the automobile, the radio, and the airplane changed America's way of life forever. *Men's fashions were often modeled after famous sport figures. *Women's fashions emerged with a new look, and beading was an important part of their fashions. *During the 1920s the Ku Klux Klan expanded to its highest total membership ever recorded in history. *Black writers became popular in this period also known as the Harlem Renaissance. *Women earned the right to vote when the 19th amendment was finally added to the Constitution. *The Charleston became the most popular dance of the Roaring 20s. *In 1923 dance marathons became popular as a way to earn money. |
